03.03.2025 - 25.03.2025
As my BUA Open Science fellowship comes to a close, it culminates in an event that I initiated and co-organized: "How can Artificial Intelligence and Open Knowledge strengthen each other?" on March 25, 2025. In light of pressing challenges such as the concentration of power in Big Tech, the new EU AI legislation, and ongoing debates around data usage and openness, it is crucial that we work together to develop solutions and take responsibility. This one-day event will bring together experts from the fields of Artificial Intelligence, Open Science, and Open Knowledge, alongside decision-makers from business, politics, and civil society, to discuss concrete approaches and develop strategies for ensuring that AI is designed in a fair, sustainable, and socially responsible way.
The program on March 25, 2025, at the Weizenbaum Institute:
Morning: Knowledge exchange in an interdisciplinary discussion on experiences and requirements for AI in the practice of open science.
Afternoon: Community exchange in the format of a World Café will offer space for networking, joint strategy development, and lead to a practical guide.
Evening: Panel discussion with representatives from politics, business, research, and NGOs on key political priorities.
